Hands of a Family...

“If you look deeply into the palm of your hand, you will see your parents and all generations of your ancestors. All of them are alive in this moment. Each is present in your body. You are the continuation of each of these people.”
Thich Nhat Hanh

I found the photo pinterest (and could not find a credit for the photo) and thought what a wonderful idea for a bit of family history. I have wonderful memories of my parents and my grandparents. There are times when I glimpse my hands while I'm painting and see my mother's hands (although my nails never look like hers) and also her mother's hands. I see my Grandmother's face sometimes in the mirror, looking back at me.

Granddaughter countdown continues...less than 4 weeks...she may be a leap year baby.

  2. When I worked for a florist I delivered flowers every 4 years to a woman who was born on leap year. She said she love it and all the attention she got and she got to grow old very slowly.
good thoughts for your new grandbaby.

  3. Whenever I get forgetful or do something silly, I blame my mother! hehe! She was very placid and I definately don't take after her. Maa
