5 Little Monkeys Sittin' on a Step

Tried to take photos of the
5 little monkeys
(my 2 grandbabies and their cousins)
on Sunday
afternoon
.

I was able to get 20+ photos like these.

Maybe I'll just wait until they turn 18

Beautiful Sunday Morning...

Sitting on the porch this morning waiting for chocolate cupcakes to bake. (I'll be seeing the grandchildren today).  As soon a they cool, I be spreading butter cream icing on them. We've been baking and cooking gluten free around here as our grandson has a wheat allergy.  I am surprised by the number of people who have a problem with wheat.  I am now aware that the wheat today is not the same wheat I ate as a child.
Another beautiful day here in our little corner. We have been blessed with weather very unlike our normal August weather.  Wishing all a beautiful Sunday.

Lipstick Sage and Hummer Watch

Found this lovely red Lipstick Sage plant at a local nursery this spring.

I have it in a large pot on the patio and it has been beautiful all summer long.

It also has attracted hummingbirds to the yard...

I sat on the porch, camera in hand, and waited...
and was able to capture some photos of these busy little birds.

I am so enjoying the hummers visits.  I've had hummingbird feeders over the years
and all I attracted were ants.

Traveling in pairs...

Sitting on the porch this morning with my coffee and
noticed that the birds are traveling as couples
.

A pair of goldfinches and a pair of purple finches
are visiting the thistle feeder together.

I see this couple often...the male cardinal actually
goes to the feeder and takes seed back to her.

Guess Lou and I aren't so different.
He brought home Crab Cakes for dinner last night.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Still like that Old Time Rock and Roll

Sitting in front of the computer printing shipping labels with the radio on...this comes on

Singing along, at the top of my lungs, and realize the windows are open.
Hopin' the neighbors enjoyed it as I didn't hear anyone joinin' in.

Just take those old records off the shelf
I'll sit and listen to 'em by m'self
Today's music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock and roll

Don't try to take me to a Disco
You'll never even get me out on the floor
In 10 minutes I'll be late for the door
I like that old time rock and roll

(Chorus)
Still like that old time rock and roll
The kinda music just soothes the soul
I reminisce about the days of old
With that old time rock and roll

Won't go to hear 'em play a Tango
I'd rather hear some blues or funky old soul
There's only one sure way to get me to go
Start playin' old time rock and roll

Call me a relic call me what'cha will
Say I'm old fashioned say I'm over the hill
Today's music ain't got the same soul
I like that old time rock and roll

What Happens in The Outhouse...

I have sold 5 of these outhouse signs in the last week and shipped
3 of them to 3 different towns in Alaska

Wondering if those"outhouses" are as nice as the necessaries
at the homes of George Washington and Thomas Jefferson

This privy is a 3 seater...  and has raised wood  panels.

Not quite as nice as Mount Vernon on
the inside but still a 2 seater.

Critters passing through...

I am always amazed at seeing the "wild" life in our residential yard.  We have a fox that trots through almost every evening.  Lou was working under his truck one evening and hears a noise, turns to see a ground hog rambling by.
Also it's not unusual to see deer trotting down the road.

Several of my favorite critters... the "wild" dogs.
