Looking Out My Window...

Looking out my living room window at 4 am Saturday morning. We had "snow thunder and lightning" which woke both Hubbie and me. Since we were awake, we ate breakfast while we watched the movie "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner" with Spencer Tracy and Katherine Hepburn.

Same window around 11 am. We had planned to work in the shop but the snow was already 20+ inches. The decision was made for us...no working today. It was a wonderful day to sit by the fire and watch the snow falling.

This was taken at 5:30 pm on Saturday. The sun peeked out for just a little while before setting. 28-30 inches deep, by the time the storm was finished.

  1. What beautiful pictures! Glad we don't have that much here though!

  2. Wonderful pictures but I cannot imagine what it would be like living in that much snow. It is wonderful to watch snow falling if you can be warm and entertained inside, with plenty to eat. I'd worry about lines falling and leaving me without heat and electricity. It seems a lot of people want to be out in it.

  3. Linda...I actually worried about the power going out and tried to get my Mom who lives in an apartment nearby by, to come here in case the electric went off. We have two fireplaces that would at least keep those two rooms warm. But she wouldn't come and said Lou could come to pick her up if her heat was off. With all the snow we had, she would have had to wait until noon today. It took Lou and my son-in-law 2 hours to get the truck uncovered and the driveway cleared.
