Pansies and Milkshakes...

I do love pansies but don't usually plant them in the spring because for me, the plants never make it through the summer. I don't want to have to replant pots or flower beds. But I'm having Easter brunch here on Sunday. We usually go to a family style restaurant with lots of family for Easter, but with our new little granddaughter I thought it would be easier on the new parents just to have something here. So I did purchase some pansies for the two pots by the front door. Dylan was with us yesterday and he helped me to plant the yellow, white and purple pansies. We had a great afternoon playing in the dirt, but Dylan especially liked watering everything with the hose...even his Mom Mom.

In the morning Lou and I picked up the grandson and before going home, stopped at Jennifer Crafts to restock our booth with signs and blocks. Just outside of the Marley Station Mall, where the shop is located, is Ann's Dari-Creme and it has been the place to grab a foot long hot dog and a milkshake since 1951.




Darlin' D split a hot dog with me, but the vanilla milkshake was his favorite.

Hearts and Love and Snowflakes...

Here on our little spot of Baltimore County, we again missed the bulk of a snow storm traveling up the east coast. But we did have several inches of the white stuff fall over night. Just enough to make it pretty but not so much that the roads stayed covered today. The snow plows/salt trucks were out in groups of 5 or 6 last night as Lou and I were making our way home from Marley Station Mall. We had gone to Jennifer Crafts, an arts and crafts shop, to restock our area for the first time after the holidays. The winter storm started out as sleet and freezing rain so we waited a while before heading home and took advantage of 1/2 price Pasta Night at Rocky Run. By the time we got on the road, it was snowing big, fluffy, beautiful flakes and the highways had been cleared of ice. Didn't need the 4 wheel drive until we reached our road and driveway.

This morning was cold and windy but we had this beautiful blue, blue sky. I snapped the photo below as Lucy and I headed up to the shop.

The time has come to start thinking of Hearts and Love. I took some Valentine goodies to Jennifer's last night and have been adding "Signs of Love" to the website.

Hoping all of you who are located northeast of here and are getting snowed in with inches and inches of the white stuff are all snuggled safely inside until the sun shines for you tomorrow.

Brandywine and Avatar

Yesterday, Lou and I decided to checkout a craft show we have considered participating in, but wanted to go and see exactly what it was like before we committed. The show is in Brandywine, which is located in Southern Maryland. The Lions Club has the show as a fundraiser and it's held twice a year. It was a hot day yesterday, however there was a nice breeze and that made it comfortable. In years past, we have set up for outside shows on days that the temperatures were so high that the chair legs and and tent poles sunk into the blacktop. One of the hottest show days was when we were in Dresden, Ohio for the Longaberger Basket Bee.

We ran into Jennifer and Linda from Jennifer Crafts. That is the shop in Marley Station Mall where I have some of my signs for sale. The photo above is part of their booth. Jennifer told me that there weren't nearly the number of vendors that are at the fall show, which is held in October. Today, there is going to be a classic car show and live music as well as the craft show .

While we were at the show, Lou received a call from his friend David, wanting us to meet him and his wife at the "cheap movies" to see Avatar. I know, it's been out for ages, but you can't beat $3 admission. Great movie, and I want some of those glowing flowers for my garden.
