A Bit Of Blue...

Had this little blue visitor yesterday afternoon.

His soft warble, beautiful blue coat, warm waistcoat,
and gentle manners make him the most welcome herald of spring.

A Winter Garden Not Quite As Gray As It Appears

A lovely Sunday with temps in the 60's and
that gave me some time to work a bit in the yard.
Raked some leaves and pulled some weeds.
Spring may actually be coming this year.

Jonquils that were under leaves...Bright yellow green

The first crocus to bloom in the front yard...
another couple of days and there should be
hundreds of these little beauties opening in shades
of purple, yellow and white.

Lucy helped by sitting in every garden
where we cleared out the leaves...

Wood hyacinths popping out of the soil...

And moss is thriving on the stone wall...

 Buds on the azaleas...

Wildlife waiting for us to go inside

so they could visit the bird feeders.

Bath and a Haircut....

This is what Lucy looked like earlier this week...
fuzzy wuzzy was a cocker spaniel.
With temps in the 60's today,
I figured it was the perfect day to give the girly a bath.
She could air dry instead of sitting for an hour using the hair dryer.

I have always bathed and clipped her, but with both of us getting older,
neither one of us have a good time.

But after much discussion, hugs and treats we survived another haircut.
Looks like Baa Baa Black Sheep, but blonde.

I am covered in as much  Lucy hair as Lucy...

She looks a little choppy but for the next few days I'll have scissors in hand
cutting off those long hairs I may have missed in this round.

And the bag full of Lucy locks will be dumped in the compost.
It may be a bit early in the season, but the birds use the hair for their nests
and what they don't use will end up being turned into the compost
and added to the gardens in the spring.

Someone's been walking in my yard...

The one thing about a fresh coat of snow in the morning,
you can see who has been walking around the yard.

Crows around the base of the bird feeders....

The cat from next door just traveling through...

And crazy Lucy, running in circles...

Ya-Yas...

I have been blessed with a group of life-long friends.
This describes us completely.
I guess that makes us Ya-Yas.

Find a Warm Spot...

Lucy had some problem with find a "spot" at 6am this morning
but when she came inside she found the warmest seat in the house...

We have a foot of the white stuff with more falling...
for all in the path of this storm, find a warm spot,
stay inside and keep safe!

gotta love 'em

I had the pleasure of having this cutie with me for the day while her brother
and Mom and Dad went to the symphony.

Darlin' D was all dressed up for this school trip.

We also have a brand new addition to our family.
My niece had this little bundle last week.
Welcome to the world Raegan Lynn!

Choo Choo Toot Toot

Trip to the Train Show with the Grands...Most of the Cow Palace at the Fairgrounds was set up with vendors tables filled with every imaginable item you could think of for model trains and train gardens.  However there were some wonderful train set ups for
Children and Grandparents to enjoy.

A winter scene...very much like our weather outside...

  Lovely vintage locomotive...the passenger cars
have people in the seats, taking a trip.

 Snack time...

Cinderella's Castle

Mom Mom and Riah taking a break...

We have boxes of HO and N Gage trains with the towns, trees, cars and people.
I want to pull it all out and put up a display...
however I can't talk the Husband into building it on top of the pool table.

I Think the Bird got it Wrong...

When I came down from the shop last night,
I saw this robin in the tree in the front yard...

I believe he may be a little mixed up...
woke up to an ice covered world.

It's going to be leftover bean soup
and cornbread for dinner tonight.
