Eggs and Bubbles and M&M Seeds

We have Easter breakfast at our house...This works well as the
daughters and sons-by-love
always have several stops to make on holidays

Lucy knew that something was up and waited and watched
for the family to arrive.

Earlier in the week the grandchildren were here
 to plant spring colored M&M's.

On Easter morning those M&M seeds
sprouted into marshmallows, lollipops and peeps.

After breakfast the egg hunt began...

The Bunny brought bubble blowers and after the gathering of the eggs,
the yard was filled with smiles and bubbles.

We had a lovely Easter morning with the family.
(funny isn't it, that I only have grandbaby photos)

A Good Find...

For 39 years I have had a lamp like this one on my dresser,
a bridal shower gift from my soon to be Mother-in-law.

The past two weeks I've had my signs in a local spring consignment show.
One day last week, I strolled through the shop after making a delivery
and saw two of the same lamps
in one of the vendor's display.
I snatched them up as we had two mismatched lamps
on the night stands on either side of our bed.
Just what I really wasn't looking for but happy to find.

I did a Google search for information on Quoizel, Abigail Adams lamps
and discovered that they are still being made.
I found them listed for $300-400.
The vintage lamps are going for $200.00.

Each lamp was priced at $22.00.
Definitely a great find!

No Blood Moon for Me...

Who was able to see the Blood Moon this morning?
Even though the sky was cloudy when I went to bed last night,
I had hoped that there might be a break in those clouds
and I would get a glimpse. I changed the settings on the camera
and set the alarm for a bit before 3am.
I was so disappointed...
it was a no go here in Maryland.

Coloring Eggs...

Coloring eggs for Easter is a serious job...
just look at the faces on the grandkids and great nephew.

But after the dye job..
we had smiles, giggles and laughing..

Spring has sprung in my little corner.

Paintin' Pots...

Yesterday was a glorious, spring day of sunshine and warmer temperatures. We had to make a delivery of freshly made signs to a consignment show we're participating in...and spruce up the display.  Lou and I decided, since we were out, to go to the brunch buffet at the Gunpowder Lodge.  After eating too much, we headed to Loews to pick up a big bag of potting soil.  Warm weather makes me want to change the "old dirt" in my pots for "fresh dirt".

I had seen a photo on Pinterest of a painted clay flower pot, filled with angel vine and loved the white washed look of the pot.   Strolling through the garden section, I spied shelves full of red clay pots and thought I'm gonna paint some pots.

We already had white primer in the shop...so I brought that down to the porch.
Covering the table with brown paper, I got to work on "the look".

Put a bit of paint on the brush and then took a few strokes
on the brown paper so I could dry brush the pots
.

I had a small container of water and paper towels
ready in case I needed to remove some of the paint.

I found I did need to wipe the pots with wet paper towels to even
out the paint and make them look a bit more worn
.

I suppose if one wanted a more worn look,
the paint could be sanded with very fine sand paper.

Filled them with pretty, sweet smelling Columbine Violas and Rose Saxifraga.
These will decorate the porch for the next few weeks,
but I will most likely change the plants in the pots to some sort of
annual and plant these lovelies into the garden.

I'm happy with the look of my painted pots and
now have some Spring on the porch...

Two

Having to wait 2 weeks until after her second birthday to have her party
was not easy for our darlin' Riah. Her party had to be postponed
as she got some sort of stomach bug...then so did  her brother...
and her Mom and finally her Dad
.

She walked around for all that time saying, "Birthday...Two...Me"
Finally last weekend she got to blow out her 2 candles
and eat her carrot cake cupcakes.
Happy Birthday Sweet Girl.

Coffee and a Sunshine...

Just popping in to say Good Morning.
Starting off with a big cuppa.

The past week and a half has been so full of things to
do and the old saying "Not enough hours in the day." have certainly
described life around here.  Nothing bad, only lots going on.
 Wishing you a beautiful Sunday.
It's going to be a lovely spring day.
