Soaring with the Eagles...

As I work in the shop behind our home, sometimes
I don't leave the yard for a number of days.
Sunday morning, my dear husband decided I had been
"home bound" a bit too long.
We went out for breakfast and then
to Conowingo Dam to see if we could
get a glimpse of the eagles.

We weren't disappointed...

I do wish the photos were a bit brighter but it was a cold, gray day.
I want to visit another time when the sun is shining.

  1. You got some great shots of the eagles. We have a pair of eagles that have been living in a tall pine tree in our lane by our barn for over 10 years. Last July when Hurricane Arthur hit, their tree was damaged and their huge nest was destroyed. Luckily the 2 juvenile eagles survived the fall but it was very sad. There was only a big splinter left or the big pine tree.

The eagles have rebuilt their nest near where the first nest was built.

I made a post on my blog on July 11, 2014 entitled
NASTY ARTHUR, HE WENT AND BROKE MY HEART

I've watch a video about Eagle's Day on Conowingo Dam, it was pretty amazing.

    Have a great week.

  2. Oh you lucky girl! Beautiful shots! I love seeing the eagles. The other evening, I drove to the lake to try to capture a sunset and spotted something on the still half frozen lake. I zoomed in and it was a bald eagle! I didn't get a good shot because a noisy pickup truck came along and scared it off just before I could get a clear snap. Grrr. But I'm happy that they are nesting near where I live and I see more and more of them soaring overhead.
