Yia Yia's House

Photo of the family which is growing by leaps and bounds...Ages range from 95, Aunt Dot who is Lou's Dad's sister to Baby Boy Braden who is the youngest at 7 months. This is the home where Lou and his siblings grew up.  His sister Pat and her husband are living there now. Most family gatherings still take place in this old house.

Lou's Mother was Greek and if you have ever seen the movie, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, this was her family.  Except for the Windex...and maybe the spitting for luck.  Although a little birdie did tell me that Yia Yia did spit on the grandchildren for good luck, just never in front of the non Greek parents.

I am sure that Yia Yia and Pappou are still in the house.  You can feel their presence whenever we all gather here.  The grandchildren now bring their children.  Another set of cousins to laugh and play here.  The Great Grandparents are smiling down on this ever expanding group and I believe the house smiles too, knowing another generation is gathering within its walls.

  2. I love this photo. I am so happy Uncle Charly forces us to take so many family photos, because otherwise we wouldn't have anything to look back on and smile.
