I Fear For The Day...Albert Einstein

I just mentioned to a friend yesterday about how technology has changed our lives.  I went kicking and screaming into the "computer age".  Now I make my living by using a computer.  Love being able to look up information without having to go to the library.

And...I really do like having a cell phone.  Our earliest "car phone" was one of those large box things with the receiver connected with a cord.  This was such a wonderful thing for me as we were on the road, traveling from FL to MA doing craft shows and the girls were home with their grandparents and later as teenagers at home alone.  We were more easily able to keep in touch with them.

Now, I look forward to receiving photos of the grandbabies everyday or texts about what is going on in the lives of our daughters and their families on the cell phone.

But I think I must agree with Albert...

  1. I love the computer, the internet, social media and cell phones.
I don't like when I am in the lunchroom at work and 4 out of 5 of us are on their phones tapping away instead of engaging with the people around them in the room.
I heard of a suggestion that when you go into a restaurant with a group of people the phones be turned off and placed in the middle of the table in a pile.
The first one to use their phone has to pay the bill. If no one uses them then you just pay your own bill.

  2. I have a computer - and a love/hate relationship with it.
I have a cell phone and rarely use it.

Love Lori E's cell phone idea when going out. There is nothing more frustrating than having the bleep things go off and the owner's attention is... lost! Wish we could get a set up like that at the doctor's office! ;-)

  3. Wow, I think we are already there. I detest it when dining with family or friends and people are on their phones calling, texting, or checking facebook.
