Ocean Pines Craft Show

 We went to the beach this weekend to participate in
the Ocean Pines Craft Show
which is held every year on the first Saturday in August.
We were lucky with the timing...
we were able to see the Blue Moon rise up
over the Atlantic.

  We arrived at White Horse Park around 5:30 am
to set up our tents and display.

 We had beautiful weather...a bit on the hot side
but the humidity was low.

 The show is run by a wonderful group of ladies
and has been going for 38 years.

After doing the craft show yesterday,
Lucy and I  relaxed  on the porch this morning. 
I had my coffee and Lucy is sniffed the local smells
and caught a few winks. The old man slept in. 
Thinking all three of us are feeling our age
after setting up and breaking down for the show.

Reisterstown Blooming Arts Festival...

We don't set up our display for many shows anymore
(because we're gettin' old),
but decided to participate in a local show on Saturday. 
We've done the Reisterstown Blooming Art Festival,
before but not for several years. 

Our booth was below some beautiful pink flowering trees
so we had a carpet of blossoms under us.

Our daughter and the grandchildren live just up the road
from the festival and they came by for a visit. 

This is a wonderful community fair...

The Kiwanis Club had a children's play area set up for the kids.
They also had table  for the kids to color an insert for a flower pot,
which they provided, and then the children got to go to
the Glyndon Nursery booth to pick out a plant for the pot for their
Mom for Mother's Day

The Oriole Bird stopped by to say Hello!

Local high school kids had a facing paint booth,
and the grandlittles became a butterfly and a spiderman.

There was wonderful musical entertainment all day long...

Thanks to the  Reisterstown Recreation Council and  Reisterstown Improvement Association who did so much work
to make this a successful event!

Perry Hall Christmas Craft Show 2010

Just a reminder that the Christmas Show in Perry Hall will be opening tomorrow.

I set up my area on Tuesday and was able to get some photos of displays already set up, but there was still alot left to do. But now, the show is set up and ready. It always amazes me that in 4 days that the Perry Hall Community Hall can be transformed from a large, empty room into a retail shop filled with gifts, hand crafted goodies, a vintage section with furniture and housewares, homemade candies and a section with gently used children's clothing and toys.

Reisterstown Bloomin' Artfest 2010

We participated in the Bloomin' Artfest in Historic Reisterstown this weekend. The weather this year was beautiful, the festival committee was so accommodating and helpful. The festival was set up in in front of the Franklin Middle School, on the grass, among the trees, but really extended down Main Street to all the wonderful shops located there.

Lots of people came for the arts and crafts, the entertainment (which was fabulous), and the food. Dogs of all breeds, shapes and sizes came with their people to have a sniff and a wag. We thought about taking Lucy with us, but our wild child would never have calmed down all weekend.

In the photo below, at the right you can see The Cow...a wonderful ice cream parlor.
In the summer, you have to stand in long lines to get served.

This was a great festival to do...set up and breakdown were easy, the promoters were wonderful, the weather was sunny but not hot, customers were friendly and an pleasure to deal with...
so why are we still recuperating from this on Wednesday? Getting older ain't for wimps!!!!

Maryland Home and Garden Show

Quick post as I must get back to painting for the second weekend of the HG show, but just wanted to put up photos of our booth. It was so hard to be sitting inside when we had such beautiful weather this weekend but one must do what one must do. Hope all had a wonderful weekend.

Colorfest Weekend...Thurmont, Maryland

Two weeks ago we were in Thurmont for Meagan and Erik's Wedding. This weekend, Hubbie and I were there to set up for Colorfest. We've been doing this show for years in the front yard of friends who have a building on Main St.

who let us use their property to pop up our tents and peddle our wares.

Although it rained while setting up on Friday evening
the rest of the weekend was shower free.

We used to participate in shows almost every other weekend...and this is the first show we've actually set up for all year. Obviously we have gotten old...we were exhausted.

Missing Friends from The Basket Accessories Roadshow

For quite a few years my husband and I participated in the Basket Accessories Roadshow which had vendors who made and sold items for Longaberger consultants and their customers. We traveled the east coast from MA to FL. As times changed, some vendors retired and there weren't so many "crazy basketladies" anymore, we slowly stopped doing the shows.
I really do miss many of the vendors who became wonderful friends and also so many of the fabulous customers.

Springtime in Perry Hall Maryland Craft Show

For over 20 years, there has been a consignment craft show at the Perry Hall Community Hall. One in the fall that usually runs for 4 weeks before Thanksgiving and one in the spring for 2 weeks before Easter. The spring show is going on right now. It opened on Friday, March 20 and runs through Palm Sunday, April 5. There are 40+ vendors...woodworkers, photographers, painters, sewing, bakers, candy makers and more. There is also a room of antiques, glassware, dishes, and other to use again items. If you're in the area you may want to stop by.
































Went today to see all the goodies since I had an early set up time and didn't get to see what all the other vendors were offering. The show is restocked everyday so there are always new things to see.
