Grandchildren...
On Tuesday, I was back to my one day during the week to watch my Darlin' Dylan ( isn't he going to hate that when he gets older ). Last week Dylan and his Dad drove to North Carolina to visit Chad's sister and her family. The week before, I wasn't needed because of the snow. I couldn't believe how much he had grown and how many new things he was doing. I guess that country song is right...Don't Blink!Sunday, February 21, 2010
Shall we play in the dirt?

As I've been paging through all the seed and garden catalogs that have been arriving in the mail over the past couple of weeks, I knew I had to come up with some new gardening signs for spring. This is one I painted today. I believe this sentiment is so true. It perfectly describes the gardener. Am anxiously the arrival of spring.

Whodunit?

I had the tv on today while I was working on some orders. On the USA network, there was a NCIS marathon. I like that show...I like the relationship of the characters and whodunit storylines. I got to thinking about blood evidence and how blood is not easy to clean up. One may not be able to see it but it's still there. Abbey is always able to find it on the show and prove that someone was murdered and figure out who the killer is.
Quite a few years ago, I cut the tip of my thumb while using the band saw. I was in the shop by myself and I ran to the bathroom to grab some paper towels to try and stop the bleeding...leaving blood drops on the floor from the saw to the bathroom. Then I went to the phone to call Lou who was still down the house, still dripping blood everywhere I went. I ended up with stitches putting the tip of my thumb back where it belonged. I have to wonder if it can be determined if blood that has soaked into a concrete floor twenty years ago ( you can still see it) is different than new blood.
When all the CSI shows became so popular, Lou and I joked that he should document the the "blood drops" in case something "happened to me".
Soooo... if I disappear without a trace, Lou wants everyone to know that when the police find the old blood drips on the floor that I was still alive and kickin' in 2010.

Snow Dazed
A Love Story
I'm a sucker for a Good Love Story...
It starts in the early1960's. I am one of of 3 children. I have a brother, John who is three years younger than I am and a sister, Jan who is six years younger. John had a friend Paul, who he met when they were both in Boy Scouts. Jan's best friend was Patsy, who lived in the house across the street from my parents home. I know Patsy and Paul's paths crossed from time to time over the years at that big old house. Our home was a hang out for my siblings friends. Time went by, all grew up. Jan and Pat have stayed close all these years...through marriages and children. John and Paul drifted apart, although they saw each other on occasion. Both Patsy and Paul had their marriages end several years ago. Early last year, Pat put and ad on Craig's List in the personals, looking for someone to maybe go out to dinner with, or a movie. She had a reply from someone who sounded nice, but she didn't want to go meet him alone, so she took two of her grown children with her to meet this fellow in a public place. How surprised she was to find out that she knew him, had known him years ago. Yes...it was Paul.
They have being dating for almost a year now. I spoke with my Mother yesterday and she told me that Pat and Paul are engaged and are planning a spring wedding. So here's to hoping that the words to that old song are true...Love is lovelier, the second time around.
