Hummers

I can't seem to attract these tiny beauties with a feeder but it seems
I must have the right flowers because they have
been visiting regularly this week

At the Hot Lips Sage...

 and the Turk's-Cap Lilies.

I am thrilled they find my garden so inviting.

Berry Pickin'

Received a call on Saturday morning asking if I would like to join the daughters and grandlittles to pick berries at a local berry farm.

It's the end of blueberry season and the raspberries and blackberries
were just starting to ripen and any ripe berries were picked
much earlier than when we arrived at the farm that morning.

We were able to gather enough blueberries
to come back to our house and make a nice large batch
of blueberry pancakes for the hungry, berry picking crew.

Garden Sharing

Beautiful Morning in Maryland...
These lovely cone flowers were a share from my dear friend's garden
when she separated the large bunches she had.
I can look around the yard and see so many plants that have been
shared from friends and family gardens
or were gifts from some of my favorite people.
How many of you have a plant in your garden
that reminds you of someone special?

Finally...

after thinking my nasturtiums would never bloom,
I had a surprise one morning this week.

These lovely Empress of India blossoms appeared.

Wishing you a beautiful Sunday.

Sprinkler Days

It's typical Summertime in Maryland...
Hot and Humid.

Grand dog beats the heat by running through the sprinkler.

and of course, the Grand Littles also had to join in...

Loving this summer of sprinkler days with dogs and kiddos.

Happy Independence Day

Celebrate America!
Have a wonderful 4th of July.

...and remember to cut back your petunias...
my Grandmother Elsie told me to always trim them back around the 4th so that they don't get too leggy.

Oh No...

Catastrophe in the kitchen this morning.
My old Cuisinart coffeemaker died a quiet death.
Had to run up to the shop and get my little ruby coffeepot.

Will be shopping on Amazon later.
